Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Redevelopment

The redevelopment of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital will provide the Hornsby community with enhanced health services.

However, the nature and complexity of the site means the redevelopment of the entire campus will be undertaken in stages to ensure the community can continue to access its public hospital and all its services with minimal disruption.

The $120  million Stage 1 redevelopment, known as the STAR Building, is now complete and fully operational. It includes eight theatres, three 28-bed inpatient wards, Acute Assessment Unit and support services including pathology, sterilising services, kitchen, loading dock and environmental services.

The Stage 2 redevelopment was announced in February 2015 and has been allocated $200 million.

Planning is underway and will consider an upgrade to the emergency department, paediatric services, medical imaging and new medical inpatient units.
