Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Stage 2 Redevelopment

Health Infrastructure in collaboration with Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service is currently carrying out planning and design for the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital redevelopment.

This redevelopment is all about providing a much better experience for patients, carers, staff and visitors to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital in a purpose-built facility that meets the needs of the community well into the future.

The STAR building (Surgery, Theatres, Anaesthetics and Recovery) includes eight new operating theatres, a central sterilising service, surgical in-patient units, pathology services, kitchens and improved health information services.

In 2015 the NSW Government committed $200 million towards Stage 2 of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Redevelopment. The Stage 2 Redevelopment will deliver a new facility that includes a refurbished and expanded Emergency Department and a new multi-storey Clinical Services Building.

The Clinical Services Building will accommodate a Medical Assessment Unit, combined Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit, combined Coronary Care and Cardiac Investigations Unit, Ambulatory Care Centre, Transit Lounge, Inpatient Units, new retail outlets and combined education space with the University of Sydney.

The schematic design for Stage 2 of the project is now complete and Detailed Design has commenced.
