Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service - Northern Beaches

The service consists of a team of specialist mental health clinicians who provide assessment and therapy services to children, adolescents and their families who may be experiencing significant emotional, behavioural or social difficulties.

Eligibility

  • Children and young people aged 0 – 17 years (18 if at school) with a significant mental health issue
  • Live in the Manly, Warringah or Pittwater local government areas.

Referral

Contact 02 9466 2500 and ask for the CAMHS Intake Clinician, between 9am and 5pm – you may be required to leave a message.

Self-referrals are accepted.

Parents or caregivers should contact the Intake Clinician to activate a referral made by another health professional. 

Urgent cases

Contact 02 9466 2500 and ask for the Urgent Intake Clinician, between 9am and 5pm.

For after-hours emergency assistance, contact the Extended Hours Team at Manly Hospital on 02 9976 9611, or go directly to Manly Hospital's Emergency Department.

Urgent and crisis cases are where there are concerns for a young person at risk of self-harm, suicide, risk of harm to others or acute and sudden onset of mental health symptoms.

If there are immediate safety concerns, contact "000".

Other information

Group programmes are run for children and their parents.  Currently our programs include groups assisting with anxiety, ADHD, anger and behavioural issues and parenting programs aimed at strengthening the parent-child relationship.
