The NSLHD Board Charter sets out the framework for governance within the NSLHD and defines the roles, responsibilities and authorities of the Board of Directors.

Trevor Danos

Mr Trevor Danos AM Chairman

Trevor is chair of Northern Sydney Local Health District and sits on the boards of Endeavour Energy and the privatised NSW Land Registry Office. He is chair of the NSW Treasury Social Investment Expert Advisory Group and is a member of the Australia-New Zealand SKA Coordination Committee for the Square Kilometre Array telescope. He chairs the Dean of Science's Advisory Council at UNSW where he is an Adjunct Professor. He was previously a director of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and TransGrid and a member of the Cooperative Research Centres (CRC) Committee. He is the author of "The Pursuit of Excellence: A History of the Professor Harry Messel International Science School".

He was made a Member of the Order of Australia on Australia Day 2014.

Annette Schmiede

Adjunct Associate Professor Annette Schmiede Board Deputy Chair

Annette Schmiede joined the Northern Sydney District Health Service Board when it was established in 2011, she is the deputy chair and chairs the Board' s Finance, Risk and Performance Committee. Her career of over three decades has given her a deep knowledge and understanding of Australia' s health and aged care sectors.

She has held leadership roles in the management and governance of health services in both the public and private sectors. She has recently completed six years as the Executive Leader of the Bupa Health Foundation and is a director of Research Australia and a Senator of the Australia Catholic University.

Her areas of interest include health services research mental health research and policy and health services planning. She is an economics graduate and an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Menzies Centre for Health Policy, School of Public Health, at Sydney University.

Annette joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2011.

Michelle Mulligan

Dr Michelle Mulligan

Dr Michelle Mulligan is a Specialist Anaesthetist (FANZCA) at Royal North Shore Hospital and in the private sector. She has management responsibility at Royal North Shore as the Clinical Director of the Division of Surgery and Anaesthetics, and also Chairs the Surgery and Anaesthetic Clinical Network.

Her qualifications include an MBA, Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Company directors (FAICD) and Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA). She has served on a number of Boards including the Council, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

Michelle joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2017.

Mary Chiarella

Professor Mary Chiarella AM

Professor Mary Chiarella AM is Professor of Nursing at Sydney Nursing School and an internationally renowned nurse leader with a distinguished career in nursing services. She has qualifications in Nursing, Midwifery and Law and conducts research covering three broad themes including: safety and quality; law, ethics and regulatory issues; and improvements in nursing practices/models of care. Professor Chiarella's over-40-year career began as a clinical nurse in the UK. Professor Chiarella was invited to the WHO Nursing and Midwifery Directorate, Geneva, to develop a compendium of nurse-led Primary Health Care models including a review of global models of care from 38 countries.

Mary joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2017.

Keith Skinner

Mr Keith Skinner

Mr Skinner was the Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Australia between 2001 and 2015. Mr Skinner began his career in 1974 as an auditor in Deloitte's Sydney office, later moving into the firm's Restructuring Services business. Following secondments to the firm's Melbourne and London offices, he returned to Sydney in 1983 and became a partner in 1986.

Andrew Goodsall

Mr Andrew Goodsall

Andrew Goodsall is the senior healthcare analyst with MST Marquee Australia. He has specialised in equity research since 1999, and rated as the number one sector analyst in each of the major surveys since 2004. Prior to joining MST Marquee in 2017, he was with UBS and Citi. He has extensive health policy background culminating in his roles as a senior adviser/chief of staff to a former Victorian health minister.

Andrew joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2013.

Brad Goodwin

Mr Brad Goodwin

Mr Goodwin has over 18 years of front line experience as a paramedic with 12 years as an intensive paramedic specialist and is currently a Superintendent with NSW Ambulance. As a senior Aboriginal manager with NSW Ambulance he had been able to influence decisions that have led to better employment and health outcomes for both Aboriginal employees and the patients they attend by encouraging executive level managers to increase the skills of Indigenous paramedics through recruitment campaigns for Aboriginal paramedic specialists. Mr Goodwin has an Advanced Diploma in Management and an Advanced Diploma Paramedical Science.

Brad joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2017.

Anthony Hollis

Mr Anthony Hollis

Anthony Hollis, a lawyer by training, is an experienced management consultant having held senior executive roles in Australia and overseas with Katasi, Kronos, Time Warner, Canwest (former Network Ten owner), EY, PwC, in investment banking and early stage companies, as well as various board roles, including as Non-Executive Director NSW Export and Investment Advisory Board, and Chair of Better Off (promoting diabetes prevention), and mentoring Indigenous businesses.

Anthony joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2013 and chairs its Research, Innovation, Training & Education committee.

Donna Lynch

Dr Donna Lynch

Donna Lynch trained in anatomical pathology and has spent time as a GP. Following several years working in the UK she returned to Australia and managed a specialist surgical practice. During this time she studied Practice Management and Accounting. Donna spent 10 years at DHM pathology where she trained registrars and scientific officers and took an active part in the expansion and development of the laboratory.

Donna joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2018.

Dr Stephanie Teoh

Dr Stephanie Teoh

Dr Stephanie Teoh is a GP with over twenty years experience in both rural and urban practices throughout Australia. She worked from 2008-2015 in Beijing, China for International SOS and returned to Australia in 2015 as Medical Director for Qualitas Healthcare Australia, a primary healthcare group, focussing on clinical governance, risk management and primary care models. In 2018 she joined Osana as a Clinical Director to develop innovation in primary care to improve community health outcomes, chronic disease prevention and health network integration.

Stephanie is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Diplomate of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) and Diploma of Paediatrics (Dip. Paeds).

Stephanie is passionate about patient-centred care and improving patient experience of their own health and within our health system.

Stephanie joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2020.

Karen Filocamo

Karen Filocamo

Karen brings with her a wealth of experience in both the NSW health service and the non-government sector having held senior management roles in consumer engagement, health promotion and disability and chronic disease management. Karen is the former CEO of Arthritis NSW.

Karen Filocamo joined the Northern Sydney Local health District Board in 2019.

Kimberley Reynolds

Kimberley Reynolds

Kimberley Reynolds is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience as a Consultant working across large private and public sector organisations. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce and MBA (Exec).

She has experience in PWC, Unilever, Transport for NSW, Sydney Metro, Service NSW and NSLHD. Her background has been in leading transformation and improvement programs across customer experience, analytics, audit, growth and organisational performance. She has a strength in strategy development, realignment of organisations and developing the customer experience.

Kimberley is a strong advocate for improving patient experience and the care journey and is a member of the NSLHD Health Care Quality Committee and Patient Experience Steering Committee.

Kimberley joined the Northern Sydney Local Health District Board in 2020.
