The internal review must be dealt with by an officer who was not involved in processing the original application, and the internal review decision maker must issue a fresh decision within 15 working days of the receipt of the internal review application.
A fee of $40 is payable by the applicant to NSLHD for an internal review.
If an applicant is dissatisfied with either the original or internal review decisions, they may then apply to the Office of the Information Commissioner for an external review of the decision.
An application for external review should be lodged with the Information Commissioner within 40 working days of receiving the internal review decision. This must be done in writing. The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) can be contacted:
