Who we are looking for?
Our graduates are passionate, motivated and confident professionals who thrive on making a difference to the lives of others and want to contribute to the public health system.
Applications are assessed based on a number of qualities including relationship building skills, leadership abilities, critical thinking and decision making capability and personal attributes such as acting with integrity and managing self.
To be eligible for the Graduate Health Management Program, applicants need to:
- hold an undergraduate degree from a recognised university, and have graduated within the last two years
- hold an Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Australia or New Zealand
General stream
Graduates in the general stream will have the opportunity to undertake placements with highly experienced senior executives across both hospital and district portfolios.
Graduates will undertake three placements during their first year and one 12-month placement during their second year.
The stream is open to applicants from all university degrees.
Graduates will study a
Master of Health Service Management with the University of Tasmania, aimed at providing theory on issues of contemporary professional health management practice.
Finance stream
Graduates in the finance stream will have the opportunity to undertake three placements across both hospital and district portfolios, in addition to a 12-month placement with the Director of Finance and Corporate Services.
The stream is open to applicants with a university degree in accounting, finance, business or commence.
Graduates will study a
Master of Health Service Management
with the University of Tasmania, aimed at providing theory on issues of contemporary professional management practice. At the completion of the Graduate Health Management Program, graduates from the finance stream will be supported to complete a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting.
