Here at Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD), we believe it's important to celebrate the successes of our team. It is through the talents and efforts of our employees and volunteers that we deliver our vision of being Leaders in healthcare, partners in wellbeing.

A variety of options are available for both our employees and volunteers, as well as our patients and consumers to formally recognise and thank our staff for the incredible work they do every day, those who have gone above and beyond, who are undertaking projects to increase the quality and safety of the care we provide and who have great ideas to bring improvements and innovations into our district.

  • Exceptional People Awards

    The NSLHD Exceptional People Awards were created to identify and celebrate the staff who live the true meaning of our CORE Values and Behaviours Charter, those who go over and above to make a difference for the benefit of their colleagues, patients and consumers.

    Nominations by patients and consumers are open year round, and will be submitted into the next upcoming annual event. If you are a patient or consumer of NSLHD and wish to make a nomination, please PDF icon download the form, complete the details and submit as instructed.

  • Compliment Portal

    Have you had a great experience in your healthcare journey? Compliments are a great way to recognise the achievements and effort of those who work in our hospitals and services. Our employees and volunteers love hearing how their work makes a positive impact to our patients and consumers, carers and family members.

    If you would like to thank someone for their part in your healthcare journey, you can ask one of our employees to send a compliment through our Compliment Portal to them on your behalf. Employees can click here External Link to access the Portal to send a compliment for you.

    A Compliment Portal for patients and consumers to directly send a thank you to an employee at Northern Sydney Local Health District will be coming soon.

    Nominations by staff and volunteers are open for a 6 week period each year. Please PDF icon download the form, complete the details and submit as instructed.

  • Compliment Portal

    Compliments are a great way to recognise the achievements and effort of those around us and help us build a positive workplace culture. Recognising positive behaviours through the power of a compliment is one way which we can live our CORE Values and Behaviours Charter, and further integrate our Speaking Up For Safety strategy in Northern Sydney Local Health District.

    Employees can send a compliment electronically to a colleague or volunteer through the Compliment Portal. Your compliment will be sent as an e-thank you card via email to the recipient. Employees can also pass on compliments from a patient or consumer, carer or family member by sending a card on their behalf.

  • Innovation Program

    The Innovation Program provides funding for ideas that support front line staff to improve patient care.

    The program is run quarterly and the top 5 applicants each round will pitch their idea to a panel of judges in front of a live audience.

    Applications are open to all initiatives no matter how big or small. A total prize pool of $50,000 is available at each event.

    The program is aimed at initiatives that:
    • Improve patient outcomes and experience
    • Improve the health of populations
    • Improve staff experience
    • Reduce the cost of care

  • Quality and Improvement Awards

    The Northern Sydney Local Health District Quality and Improvement Awards represent a fantastic opportunity to recognise the excellent service delivery and improvement projects that have made a real difference to the people for whom we care.

    If you or your team have completed a project that has improved the outcomes and experience for patients and staff please consider applying. There are 10 categories.
