​Health Promotion runs a range of physical activity, educational and parenting courses for the community. Namely; Healthy Lifestyle, Go4Fun, Stepping On and Childbirth & Early Parenting Education.

Strength Training                     

Healthy Lifestyle offers over 200 day, evening and Saturday physical activity courses at venues in the Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde, Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore areas. The program has been in operation since 1979.

Courses on offer include: Aquafitness, Gentle Exercise, Strength Training, Tai Chi, Upright and Active (Falls Prevention), Yoga and more.

To join a course and get active, simply enrol before the next term starts.

Go4Fun® is a free healthy lifestyle program supporting children to become fitter, healthier and happier.

The program is fun and interactive and supports 7-13 year old children and their families to adopt a long lasting and healthy approach to living.

Childbirth & Early Parenting Education

Childbirth & Early Parenting Education​The Lower North Shore Health Promotion Unit conducts preparation for birth, parenting and exercise programs, as well as facility tours for expectant parents - primarily for those attending Royal North Shore Hospital for the birth of their baby.

Courses available include:

  • Preparation for Birth
