Coal Loader Resource for Primary Schools

Coal Loader Resource for Primary SchoolsThis resource is for teachers' use within the school and community garden projects. The resource provides five lesson plans on topics based on the Healthy Kids five key messages for a healthy lifestyle.

It includes curriculum links to the key learning areas and activities for the classroom, garden and community excursions.
Note: Changes to the NSW primary school curriculum in 2013 may mean some curriculum links do not correspond.

The resource can be used to:

  • support the planting of fruit or vegetables or the development of a school garden
  • support sustainability and environmental programs
  • reinforce and support the curriculum teaching within PDHPE
  • link into school Live Life Well at School Action Plans
  • reinforce other programs in the school such as Crunch and Sip

The Coal Loader resource continues to be used by school vegetable garden projects as a valuable teaching aid. It is now a valuable tool in the Ready, Set, Grow Program.
