The public is being asked not to visit hospital patients

The public is being asked not to visit hospital patients due to the current COVID-19 situation.

The hospital is now on red alert and this requirement has been introduced in the interests of safety and wellbeing of patients, their families and staff.

We know this is hard and how important visitors are for the wellbeing of our patients.

We encourage the use of technology, where possible, to check in with loved ones.

Hospital staff will of course give careful and compassionate consideration to some wards such as paediatrics, maternity, critical care and palliative care areas and to individual circumstances.

Please speak to staff on the ward who will able be to discuss your circumstances, give you information about patients and help you connect with your loved ones.

Hopefully this measure will be for a short time as we all respond to the latest COVID-19 outbreak. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
