Acupuncture hand 

 

Acupuncture is one of the supportive care services available for radiation oncology patients. It is available for patients receiving treatment and can be effective to manage cancer treatment related symptoms including:

  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Hot flushes
  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Immune function
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Radiation induced dry mouth

Acupuncture is available on Thursdays and Fridays in the radiation oncology department. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact the radiotherapy reception on (02) 9463 1300.

 

Associate Professor Byeongsang Oh, PhD

Dr Oh is an Associate Professor at Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney, a visiting Professor at University of Kansas Medical Center, USA, a previous Research fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School (HMS), and a founding member of the International Medical Tai Chi Qigong Association (iMTQA), USA. Dr Oh has been collaborating in several research projects with the Harvard Medical School, Stanford School of Medicine, Yale University and Arizona State University.
