Men's Cooking Courses 

~ Are you a male Carer?

~ Want to increase your confidence in the kitchen?

~ Want to learn how to make easy, delicious, home- cooked meals from scratch?

~ Then come and join us in a fun, relaxed, interactive environment and learn some tasty new skills!

Men's cooking courses run once a week for six weeks, 11:00am - 2.00pm. Each week you will prepare a 2-course meal which you can then share with the other men in your group. Courses can be held throughout the region - talk to us to see what we can organise in your area.

If you are recently widowed, or your partner has been admitted into a care facility, you are also eligible to enrol in the Men’s Cooking course. We also have ongoing Men’s Cooking Groups, where participants can continue to meet on a monthly basis and expand their repertoire!

New Carers are also welcome to join the monthly sessions.

Healthy Lifestyle Courses - get fit, feel great, have fun!

Healthy Lifestyle courses are suitable for both beginners and those who exercise regularly. They are also beneficial for people dealing with osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or other chronic conditions.

They offer a wide range of courses including aqua fitness, gentle exercise, strength training, dance, pilates, tai chi and yoga.

Courses are run over four, ten-week terms each year and coincide with school terms. They are offered at over 50 community venues in the Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde, Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore areas.

Yoga and Relaxation

Yoga and meditation are great for relaxation.

Northern Sydney Carer Support Service has weekly Carer Yoga and Relaxation classes that work on both the mind and the body to rejuvenate your soul and build positivity and empowerment.   

Classes are suitable for all ages - men and women - and no experience is needed. Classes are by donation and taught by a qualified Dru Yoga teacher.

‘Stepping On’ is an exciting, friendly, FREE program that will show you how to build strength and balance, reduce your risk of falls and boost your independence.
