The Genetics Clinics at Royal North Shore Hospital are Local Health District wide clinic that provides diagnosis, gene testing and genetic counselling services by a team of specialist health-care professionals.
Our service runs the following general and speciality clinics:
- Diagnostic Genetics Clinic
- Genetic Counsellor Clinic
- Prenatal Genetics Clinic
- Neurofibromatosis Clinic
Any individual (adult or child) with a personal and or family history of a genetic condition or a suspected genetic condition can be considered for an appointment with one of the genetics clinics, provided they have a valid referral from a GP or specialist. Please see the attached referral criteria for more information about appropriate indications for referral. A referral is required to attend our clinic. Referrals should be made out to Associate Professor Yemima Berman. More information on Clinical Genetics referral criteria is available here.
Please note: Diagnostic imaging for palpable breast lumps in NF1 should be investigated locally as per the general population, with MMG +\- ultrasound followed by referral to a breast surgeon where needed for concerning lesions.
