This service provides timely intensive community based treatment for children and young people experiencing serious mental health problems, with the specific aim of preventing emergency department presentations and hospital admissions.

This service also provides comprehensive family systemic assessment and formulation. Outreach Support for Children and Adolescent’s goal is to work collaboratively with young people and families to optimise safety and wellbeing, build a secure base for their future and to provide support to the family.

 

Eligibility

Children and young people under the age of 17 (or up to 18 if still at school) who are experiencing rapidly increasing symptomatology and inpatient unit admission is being considered.

 

Referral

All referrals are made through the Northern Sydney Local Health District CYMHS intake teams.

 

Urgent cases

Urgent and crisis cases should contact the local Child & Youth Mental Health Service during business hours.

Outreach Support for Children and Adolescents is located within CYMHS Community team sites
