About the Neuromuscular Clinic
The neuromuscular clinic specialises in the care of adult patients with hereditary, metabolic and acquired muscle and nerve disorders. We endeavour to facilitate access to comprehensive investigations as they are required, and patient-centred management. Clinicians involved in the weekly neuromuscular clinics include the neurologist, our neuromuscular fellow, neurophysiology fellow, and a clinic/research nurse.
We also run a six-monthly multidisciplinary transition clinic, with the support of our colleagues from Allied Health Departments, the Respiratory Department, the Children Hospitals, adolescent and research nurses; to invest in the care of adolescent patients transitioning from paediatric care, and patients requiring more complex multidisciplinary advice.
Research studies are ongoing for various neuromuscular diseases.
Eligibility and Referral
Referrals can be made by general practitioners and specialists, by mail or fax. Relevant clinical information, test results and patients’ best contact details will assist us in triaging the referrals prior to appointments being given.
