Eligibility
All patients from the elective joint replacement list at RNS and Ryde Hospitals are invited to participate in the program. Referrals are also welcomed from RNSH and Ryde Hospital orthopaedic and rheumatology specialists for patients with a confirmed diagnosis of hip and/or knee osteoarthritis. An extension of the OACCP has now become available to select GP practices within the district.
Referral
Referral forms are accepted for orthopaedic and
rheumatology specialists in outpatient clinic rooms and service desks in
Ambulatory Care. All accepted patients into OACCP will then need to
provide a GP referral for Medicare billing.
Other Information
This service is geared towards improving pre-surgical management of individuals on elective hip and knee joint replacement lists and to better manage the often complex needs of individuals suffering hip and knee joint arthritis who aren’t appropriate for surgical intervention.
