Patients referred to the podiatry department should reside in Ryde and Hunters Hill Local Government Areas. They should have one of the following comorbidities:
- Renal failure
- Spinal Injury
- Rheumatoid disease
- Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- History of foot ulceration or amputation or Charcot neuroarthropathy.
Written referral from a GP or other registered health practitioner.
Urgent cases can be reviewed by telephoning 02 9463 1400 and requesting an urgent appointment.
Podiatry services are provided on an ongoing basis to patients with an identified clinical need. All patients will be assessed against clinical risk factors for foot pathology. People found to have no active risk factors will be discharged to community providers of foot care.
