The Northern Beaches Mental Health Service is a publicly funded specialist mental health service which delivers clinical services to those living in the local government areas of Manly, Warringah and Pittwater (the "Northern Beaches" - NB). We are part of Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals and Community Health (Northern Beaches Health Service - NBHS) which in turn is part of Northern Sydney Local Health District. The catchment population (all ages) for the Northern Beaches is 240,000 people. Services are provided free of charge to the consumer.
Accredited registrar training rotations are available in the following areas: adult inpatient psychiatry, adult community mental health (Queenscliff and Mona Vale), older persons' mental health (inpatient and community roles), PECC, CL (half time positions shared with either the Mona Vale community role or with the Manly PECC role), the Assertive Outreach Team and a community child and adolescent position. The registrars working at Northside Clinic join the registrar after-hours roster.
We have an active teaching program, and offer weekly psychotherapy supervision. We are a cohesive team of psychiatrists and we value close collaboration with our colleagues in other disciplines. In your time with us, we hope to support your professional development as medical experts, but also as communicators, collaborators, scholars, professionals, managers and health advocates. We are also keen to promote your examination success and the timely completion of your training.
