Associate Professor Yemima Berman BScHons BMBS PhD FRACP Clinical Genetics
Associate Professor Yemima Berman is the Head of the Genetics Department at Royal North Shore Hospital. Her special interest is in the care of adults and children with NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis. She trained at the Children's Hospital at Westmead, where she worked in the Paediatric Neurofibromatosis clinic. She has a PhD in Neurogenetics in the area of muscle performance and metabolism. A/Prof Berman is the Co-Chair of the ACI Clinical Genetics network, the current president of the Australian Association of Clinical Geneticists (AACG) and is the Medical Advisor to the Australian Children's Tumour Foundation.
Dr Sondhya Ghedia MB BS, FRACP, HGSA
Dr Sondhya Ghedia is a certified Clinical Geneticist and graduated from University of Sydney in 1995. She trained in paediatrics and clinical genetics at both the Sydney Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital at Westmead. She has worked as a Clinical Geneticist at RNSH since 2010. She works in general genetics, neurofibromatosis clinic and is the principal geneticist for the outreach clinic for the Central Coast.
Dr Mary-Louise Freckmann BMed, FRACP, HGSA
Dr Mary-Louise Freckmann has a broad range of clinical experience in the diagnosis and investigation of genetic conditions in adults and children. Dr Freckmann graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1987 and completed paediatric and genetics training at the Sydney Childrens' Hospitals in 1999. She has previously served as President of the Australasian Association of Clinical Geneticists. Mary-Louise is also a visiting Clinical Genetics at The Canberra Hospital .
Dr Linda Goodwin MBBS (Hons), FRACP, HGSA
Dr Linda Goodwin is a certified Clinical Geneticist, graduated from University Of Sydney in 1984 and completed her Paediatric training in 1995. She has been working as a Clinical Geneticist for the past 20 years. She is also a Senior Staff Specialist and Head of Department of Clinical Genetics at Nepean hospital. She is a fellow of the RACP and a member of the HGSA and AACG.
Dr. Madhura Bakshi MBBS, MD (Paediatrics), DCH, HGSA
Dr Madhura Bakshi is a Clinical Geneticist with a background in paediatric medicine. She completed her Clinical Genetics training through the Children's Hospital at Westmead and Liverpool hospitals. She has experience in Paediatric and Adult General genetics. She has an interest in delineation of clinical phenotypes associated with rare genetic syndromes contributing to intellectual disability.
