 Brolga adolescent inpatient mental health unit - Hornsby

​The Brolga Unit assist young people ages 12-17 years (under 18 years old) who are experiencing mental health problems.

This is an inpatient admission unit that provides a safe and therapeutic environment based on a client centred model of care.

 Outreach Support for Children and Adolescents (OSCA) - Hornsby

Outreach Support for Children and Adolescents (OSCA)​ provides increased intensity community based treatment for children and young people experiencing serious mental health problems. OSCA is a specialist mental health service within CYMHS that provides a short–term (up to 4 months) intensive service with outreach capacity.

OSCA uses a family focus and offers a multidisciplinary approach aimed at providing more intensive work for young people (under 18) and their families who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues.

 Perinatal Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) - Hornsby

Working in collaboration with local community mental health services, PIMHS supports mums, dads, parents, babies and families, who are experiencing severe or complex perinatal mental health disorders. PIMHS help treat parental mental illness; reduce symptoms and help recovery; and support the emotional attachment between you and your baby.

 Getting On Track In Time (Got It!) program - Macquarie​

​Getting on track in time (Got It!) is a school-based early intervention program supporting children’s social and emotional development. The program is a three-way partnership between participating families, Northern Sydney Child & Youth Mental Health (CYMHS) clinicians, and the NSW department of education. The Got It! program is being implemented to public primary schools across N.S.W.

Got It! focusses on equipping schools and parents with additional skills to support children’s emotional and social development. Got It! aims to identify potential difficulties early in a child’s development, and “catch” them while they are small and more easily addressed.

The Got It! team engages with participating schools for a 12-month period, with two main streams of intervention:
  • Whole of school education & training program
  • Early intervention program

 School link initiative - Macquarie​

​This service is in partnership with the department of education.

The service aim is to improve the mental health of children and young people by enhancing partnerships between child and youth mental health services and their local schools and TAFEs.

The initiative equips schools and TAFE staff to more confidently identify and manage emerging mental health issues in their students and to strengthen their understanding of where to refer young people for the help they need.

moderate to severe issues related to problematic substance use.
