We caught up with four of our new graduate nurses Jung Heum La, Sarah Weatherall, Simeranjeet Kaur Josan and Jonathan Herford (pictured) who were all smiles during their first week at Ryde Hospital.
Jung Heum La works in the Medical Assessment Unit and says she is really enjoying getting to know the patients and listening to their concerns. “Being a nurse you become quite aware of how lucky you are to have your health and realise you... shouldn’t take basic things for granted,” Jung said.
Sarah Weatherall moved from Moree to Sydney to take up the role at Ryde said her experience so far has been very positive. She’s enjoying helping people and working with the wonderful staff in the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Unit.
Simeranjeet Kaur Josan was an accountant for many years before deciding to follow her passion to study nursing at Western Sydney University. Simeranjeet said her first week was a bit scary but now feels confident because of the supportive staff.
Jonathan Herford works in Ward 8 and said his experience so far has been great, challenging and rewarding. “While I was finalising discharge papers for a patient she came over and gave me a hug and thanked me for taking caring of her – it was very unexpected,” said Jonathan.
Welcome to the team!
