Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Health Minister Brad Hazzard officially opened the new $600 million Northern Beaches Hospital, marking an historic day for the Northern Beaches community.
Doctors, nurses and residents were among the large crowd which turned out for the opening of the world-class facility.
The nine-storey hospital includes a 50-bed Emergency Department, 14 theatres, a medical centre as well as state-of-the-art birthing, intensive care and paediatric facilities.
The 488-bed facility will ensure the local community has access to outstanding healthcare and specialised services.
Hundreds of doctors, nurses and support staff from Manly and Mona Vale hospitals moved across to the new hospital, which offers the latest equipment and technology and broad career opportunities.
