Hornsby Hospital welcomed 16 new junior doctors, who have started their first days on the wards this week. This year's starters are part of a record intake of 999 intern doctors across the state. During their one-year internship, our junior medical officers will complete compulsory terms in the specialties of medicine, surgery and emergency.

‚ÄčMember for Hornsby Matt Kean took some time in his busy schedule to personally welcome some of our new doctors at the start of their career. He chatted to the interns at length about their studies, their experience so far as well as the future of medicine before stopping for photos. Mr Kean was saying our new doctors' drive and commitment would improve the lives of thousands of people. "It's an honour to have these dedicated professionals at Hornsby Hospital to start their long careers," Mr Kean said. As well as working at Hornsby Hospital, all new doctors will rotate through other hospitals within the district including Mona Vale, Manly and the SAN.
