Royal North Shore Hospital welcomed 48 new junior doctors, who have started their first days on the wards this week. This year's starters are part of a record intake of 999 intern doctors across the state. During their one-year internship, our junior medical officers will complete compulsory terms in the specialties of medicine, surgery and emergency.

North Shore MP Felicity Wilson took some time in her busy schedule to personally welcome some of our new doctors at the start of their career. She chatted to the interns at length about their studies, their experience so far as well as the future of medicine before stopping for photos. As well as working at Royal North Shore Hospital all new doctors will also spend some of their internship at Ryde Hospital.
