Staff came together to celebrate the launch of the district’s new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategy 2023-2027.
The new strategy comes after the conclusion of the district’s first Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy which was in place 2020 to 2022. A key shift has been to incorporate a focus on equity in the new program of work.
Interim Chief Executive Lee Gregory said the strategy shows the district’s strong commitment to making NSLHD a great place to work for all, regardless of personal background or life experience.
“The launch was a special opportunity to hear about the objectives of the new DEIB Strategy and some of the initiatives planned to help us deliver on our vision to create a workforce that reflects the community we serve, where people from all walks of life are represented, respected and feel that they belong,” Lee said.
“It was wonderful to have representatives from our five employee networks speaking at the launch event and sharing moving personal experiences of inclusion at NSLHD. It was also great to hear about the work our people have been doing to promote greater inclusion for all and what they want to achieve over the five-year DEIB Strategy period.”
