BreastScreen NSW Northern Sydney Central Coast is one of the eight Screening and Assessment Services (SASs) of BreastScreen NSW which are geographically spread across 14 Local Government Areas.

BreastScreen NSW is part of BreastScreen Australia, a joint Commonwealth, State and Territory program with high quality standards.

Within the Northern Sydney and Central Coast area, BreastScreen NSW operates a screening and assessment services at Royal North Shore Community Health Centre and Gosford Hospital with additional screening sites at Dee Why, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Wahroonga.

The BreastScreen NSW mobile screening units provide screening services at Bateau Bay, Manly, Lake Haven, Ryde, Warringah Mall, Warriewood and Woy Woy at various times of the year.

Eligibility

The BreastScreen NSW program is free for women over 40 years of age with women 50 to 74 years of age particularly encouraged to attend.

Referral

Doctor's referral is not required.

Women with unusual breast changes such as lump, pain, nipple discharge should contact their general practitioner before making an appointment at BreastScreen NSW.
