Any individual (adult or child) with a personal and or family history of a genetic condition or a suspected genetic condition can be considered for an appointment with the genetics clinic provided they have a valid doctor referral.
Doctors wishing to discuss whether or not a referral to our genetics clinic is appropriate may contact the department on 02 9463 1727 and discuss with a genetic counsellor.
A doctor referral is required and can be addressed to either
Dr Yemima (Mimi) Berman or Dr Sondhya Ghedia and should include details of
relevant family history or genetic testing.
Referrals should also include details (name and date of birth) of all
those relevant family members who may require assessment.

If the referral is urgent please call the department and discuss the case with a genetic counsellor on 02 9463 1727.
Appointments with a clinical geneticist are bulk billed. Any related charges will be discussed with patients prior to treatment.
