 What we do

Northern Sydney Oral Health provides general and emergency services to eligible people of the Northern Sydney Local Health District.

Free dental care is available for:

  • All children and young people up to 18 years of age
  • Adults (18 years or older) who and hold:
    • A Medicare card, and one of the following:
      • Pensioner Concession Card issued by either the Department of Veterans Affairs or Centrelink
      • Commonwealth Seniors Card
      • Health Care Card

After hours emergency dental care

For emergency dental treatment after hours including weekends and public holidays please visit your nearest local hospital emergency department.

 What to bring

You are required to show your Medicare card. Adults need to show a valid Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

 When to visit us

Appointments during working hours can be made by contacting the oral health call centre on 1800 679 336.

Before making an appointment please ensure you have your Medicare card as well as either your Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

If you require an Interpreter or Aboriginal liaison officer, please advise the call centre when calling.

Dental care provided includes general dentistry such as:

  • emergency dental treatment
  • specialised minor oral surgery
  • x-rays, fillings and extractions
  • dentures
  • preventive dental services.

For more extensive dental treatment, patients may be referred for specialised dental services.

You do not need a referral if you are eligible to receive free dental care.
