This is where you will come when you are having elective day surgery or surgery where you will stay overnight.
This unit/ward is responsible for screening every elective surgical patient and deciding if you need to come to a pre-admission clinic before your procedure.
The perioperative unit will ensure that you are all prepared for your surgery.
They will call you (usually the day before the procedure) to tell you what time to fast from and what time to arrive at the hospital for your surgery/procedure.

- Hernia repairs
- Minor general surgery
- Ear, nose and throat surgery – sinus surgery, tonsillectomies, grommets; adenoids
- Gynaecology procedures in minor and major
- Cystoscopies
- Vasectomies
- Circumcisions
- Dental extractions
