Podiatry - Brookvale Community Health Centre

We treat people at high risk of developing foot problems. Our service aims to prevent hospitalisation and foot amputation. Appointments are only available to those who have been assessed as having the greatest clinical need and are at risk of serious foot complications. Services available include assessment of circulation and sensation, care of skin and nails, nail surgery, wound care, footwear assessment and advice.

To be eligible for our service, patients must have one or more of the following medical conditions which place the lower limb at high risk:

• Diabetes
• Foot ulceration / cellulitis / warm oedematous foot
• Partial or total foot amputation due to vascular / neurological complications
• Significant peripheral vascular disease (PVD or PAD)
• Rheumatoid arthritis with significant foot deformity
• Neuroarthropathy
• Peripheral neuropathy / neuropathic symptoms
• Renal failure - chronic / dialysis
• Spina Bifida
• Transplant recipients

Patients must also live within Northern Beaches local government area.

To be eligible for our services, patients require a referral letter from their GP clearly stating how they meet the above eligibility criteria.​
 

Is there a cost to patients to attend the clinic?

There is no cost to attend the service, however there may be costs assocaited with provision of items such as pressure offloading boots.
