 What we do

The Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is aims to reduce the transmission infections such as HIV and hepatitis C among people who inject drugs.

The NSP in NSLHD (also known as RUSH) provides a range of needles, syringes, disposal containers and other associated equipment from our main services at Brookvale Community Health Centre and Royal North Shore Hospital Community Health Centre.

We can also provide education and information on reducing the harms associated with drug use and referrals to counselling, medical care, legal and other social services.
