 What to bring

 When to visit us

Social workers are available between 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday. There is no weekend or after hours cover at Ryde Hospital.

To allow us sufficient time to deal with your particular situation, it is preferable to make an appointment directly with the social worker.

 How to visit us

Ryde Hospital provides 350 free car parking spaces spread across six car parks.

The main carpark comprises both covered and open air parking spaces via Denistone Road.

The other large carpark is a covered carpark in the basement of the Graythwaite Rehabilitation Centre via Fourth Avenue.

There is a patient drop off zone outside the emergency department.

 Referral information

Who can see a social worker:

  • Inpatients and their relatives and carers
  • Patients attending Ryde Hospital clinics such as Ryde Midwifery Group Practice

You can also refer yourself, if you would like to see a social worker during your hospital admission.

Please speak to your doctor, nurse, ward clerk or other allied health professional to assist you.

Alternatively you, or your family or carers, may call the hospital (02 9858 7888) and ask to speak with the social worker for your ward.

You may also be referred by any member of the multidisciplinary team during your admission for a psychosocial assessment. The social worker will confirm with you that you are happy for the assessment to occur.
