TB Screening

The Tuberculin Skin Test (TST), also known as a Mantoux test, is used to assess whether a person has been infected with the tuberculosis (TB) bacteria.

The TST is primarily used to diagnose TB infection. This is when the TB bacteria is in the body but the person is not experiencing any symptoms suggestive of TB disease.

Online TST requests are received centrally for RNS, Hornsby & Manly chest clinics. You do NOT need to send a request for each clinic. Once your request is received, an appointment will be made at your local clinic for the "next available" date/time. The appointment details will be sent to you by email/post.

There are two parts to the TST, the injection done on Tuesday and the TST read done 48 hours later on Thursday. You must be able to attend both appointments. Please ensure that you are well prior to your appointment eg. no colds, flu etc. Please email if you need to reschedule.

The fee for TST is $50.00 – please note that card payment only is available at Hornsby.
