After starting his career as an intern pharmacist at Manly Hospital almost 20 years ago, Noman Masood is optimistic about a “new beginning” at Northern Beaches Hospital.

Like many others, the Director of Pharmacy will be making the move in October and while he was initially apprehensive, he is now full of anticipation.

“We have gone through a range of emotions since the announcement of the new hospital, and we now see the opening of Northern Beaches Hospital as a new beginning.

“It’s been good to see the building take shape and to engage with Healthscope and in our case EPIC pharmacy.

“I think the opportunities are immense to grow professionally and to have fulfilling careers at the new hospital.”

Noman said he has already set himself some goals for the state-of-the-art facility, including using IT innovation, establishing an integrated model of pharmaceutical care and investing in staff through education and training incentives.

He says the new hospital will also provide opportunities for staff to up-skill given the greater range of services at Frenchs Forest.

Noman said the staff were looking forward to moving into the new facility and bringing their strong workplace culture with them.

“At Northern Beaches, we are very lucky to have teams who work collaboratively and a culture which is overwhelmingly positive.

“I’m sure if we combine this tremendous approach with a beautiful new facility, we will see some innovative service delivery.”
