What we do

We provide …

The Eating Disorder Outpatient Service (EDOS) is a district service for adults with a diagnosed eating disorder living within the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) that are not otherwise able to access Eating Disorder services privately. The Eating Disorder Service provides CBT-E therapy. Patients that are appropriate for the service will see the multidisciplinary team that includes a Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Psychiatrist and Dietitian.

The Eating Disorder multidisciplinary team also provide carer support and clinical support and training to health professionals caring for consumers with an eating disorders.

 

We care for… 

Adults (over 18) with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating Disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, Otherwise Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder.

When to visit us

Referrals are to be completed by a General Practitioner. Please contact 02 8877 4652 or [email protected] for details on the referral form and eligibility criteria for the service.

  • Over 18 years of Age
  • Resident of NSLHD (North Sydney LGA, Lane Cove LGA, Mosman LGA, Willoughby LGA, Hornsby LGA, Ku-ring-gai – LGA, Ryde LGA,  Hunters Hill LGA, Northern Beaches LGA)
  • Medically stable
  • Diagnosed Eating Disorder - Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating Disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, Otherwise Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder
  • No current acute mental health issues that will interfere with eating disorder treatment (e.g. acute suicidal ideation, current deliberate self-harm, current substance abuse) 
  • Patient has no other option for Eating Disorder treatment or management in the community

How to visit us

Exit off Pacific Highway and the M1 will take you to the hospital on Reserve Road in St Leonards.

Bus Route 114 stops directly at the hospital.

The hospital is close to St Leonards Train Station

The hospital is a 5 minute walk from St Leonards Station

Street and multi storey car parking are available on the Royal North Shore hospital campus. Fees apply, so please check signage. Concession parking rates are available for patients and carers. Click here for more details.
