The Học Mãi Australia-Vietnam Foundation was established in 2001 and brings together the collective healthcare knowledge and experience of Australia and Vietnam in an educational partnership aiming to improve health outcomes through education and research in Vietnam.

Học Mãi is a not-for-profit Foundation and undertakes activities in partnership with a number of public hospitals including those within Northern Sydney Local Health District and Sydney Local Health District, the Children's Hospital Westmead, and private hospitals including Sydney Adventist Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital.

Học Mãi facilitates the development of knowledge of Vietnamese doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers to improve healthcare delivery among Vietnamese people. 

The Foundation engages with junior Vietnamese medical specialists, medical students, nurses and allied health professionals who are considered potential future leaders in Vietnamese healthcare.

Student applications


If you are a student in Vietnam and interested in applying to be part of the Advanced Course Medical Education and Research, please see application form below. 

We get many applications and we are only able to offer relatively few places. Our central organisation is very small and we are unable to promise a response to all applicants. To be a considered you will also require a reasonable level of conversational and medical English.​

You will also have to supply a CV and three references, including one from your current supervisor or department head. ​
