Royal North Shore Hospital aquatic physiotherapy service is an outpatient service conducted in warm water.

We care for people with back and joint pain and reduced movement. People with osteoarthritis or bone and joint conditions. People who struggle to exercise on land and post-surgical patients.

Please wear loose comfortable clothing to the assessment

Please bring own swimwear, towel, drink bottle, emergency medication and sugary snack (if diabetic) to the pool.

The patient should reside within the North Shore area.

The aquatic physiotherapy medical clearance form needs to be completed by the patient's treating doctor.

Once a referral is received a land-based assessment must be completed by a physiotherapist at Royal North Shore Hospital to determine the suitability of aquatic physiotherapy and establish collaborative goals of such therapy.
