Julia graduated from the University of Bristol (UK) in 2002 with honours, before moving to Sydney in 2003.  She subsequently gained a broad range of experience in hospital-based specialties, which set her up well for general practice training.  She gained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2011, and won the Tony Buhagiar Memorial Medal in 2010 for obtaining the highest score in the Fellowship exams in NSW/ACT.
