Why Live Life Well @ School?

We believe all students should be supported to get the best possible start to life.

Primary school is an important time period for children to establish healthy behaviours that will allow them to flourish. Engaging in positive health behaviours from a young age can improve academic performance, classroom behaviour, mental health and prevent long term chronic health problems (such as obesity, heart disease and some cancers).

What is Live Life Well @ School?

Live Life Well @ School is a collaborative initiative between NSW Ministry of Health and the school sectors in NSW. The program aims to:

  • get more students more active, more often
  • establish healthy eating habits

Who is the program for?

ALL Department of Education, Catholic Schools NSW and Association of Independent Schools NSW primary schools are invited to participate in Live Life Well @ School.

What support is available through the program for my school?

There is no one approach, we work very closely with schools to support and complement what is already happening. Local schools can access the following support:

  • Assistance to develop a whole school approach to physical activity and healthy eating

Is there a cost involved?

No there is no cost to be involved. All schools within Northern Sydney Local Health District are welcome to participate.
