Mona Vale Hospital's dedicated inpatient Palliative Care Unit is the first of its type on the Northern Beaches, providing specialist physical and emotional care during the final stages of illness.
Patient-centred care
Supported by palliative care specialists, the 10-bed unit has a patient-centred approach, and will encourage family and carer involvement.
The specialist inpatient palliative care service is a valuable addition that helps meet the changing needs of the Northern Beaches community and offers greater convenience for local families during extremely challenging circumstances.
The unit's design takes advantage of Mona Vale Hospital's peaceful coastal location, while aiming to create a comfortable environment.
The dedicated inpatient Palliative Care Unit operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
