There are positions available in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Community Adult, General Adult including Acute, Early Psychosis and Assertive Outreach, Psychogeriatrics, and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, all of which are well supervised by experienced consultants.

There are also two positions in the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit (MHICU) which provides care for the acutely unwell patient across the area. This is a unique opportunity to access training in this area of mental health.

The SCoT is on campus every Thursday ​to discuss your training needs and assist with planning and coordinating these.

Education Sessions, Journal Clubs, Case Presentations

These sessions provide trainees with opportunity to present and discuss their cases and to learn how to critically evaluate articles.

Exam Preparation

We are most fortunate to have Dr Lisa Lampe (Chair, Committee for Examinations) available every Tuesday for examination focussed tutorials alternating with CBT tutorials. Both she and the SCoT participate in clinical and written exam practice every Tuesday. Trainees at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital also have access to the Trial Examinations (written and clinical) which are organised at Macquarie Hospital to provide practice in an exam environment.
 
ECT: This is a great opportunity to have supervised practice and experience in ECT which runs three times per week.
 
Library facilities are available on campus.
 
Trainees at HKH also have access to the Psychotherapy Educator, Dr Sandy Kuiper who although based at Macquarie Hospital, is available to the whole training Network.
