Healthy Ageing Online Learning

​​The Healthy and Active for Life (HAL) Online program has changed and is now available as Healthy Ageing Online Learning. You can access the program resources anytime and progress at your own pace - no need to register! 

Older adults can learn about healthy eating, getting active and falls prevention from the comfort of your own home.

You can access:
  • online learning modules with quizzes
  • online exercise programs design for beginners with videos to follow along at home
  • fact sheets with tips and information
  • an exercise manual and logbook with easy to follow instructions

Community organisations are welcome to use these resources to deliver Healthy Ageing Online Learning in their group setting. Just download the Learning Guide for support.

Get Healthy Information & Coaching Service

All NSW older adults also have access to free phone and online-based health coaching through the Get Healthy Service. The Get Healthy Service offers coaching and online support to help you make lifestyle changes and reach your health goals. The program can support you to: ​
  • eat healthily 
  • get active 
  • reduce alcohol 
  • reach and stay at a healthy weight 
  • stay active during and after cancer treatment

​About the program

Healthy and Active for Life Online is a FREE 10-week healthy lifestyle program for older adults.

  • The program helps participants learn how to make small lifestyle changes to improve health.
  • It covers a range of topics including healthy eating and physical activity.
  • Participants do not need any prior knowledge or exercise experience to join. In fact, the program is more suited to those who would be considered beginners to physical activity/exercise.

    Who is it for?

    Healthy and Active for Life Online is for adults who:
    • Are aged 60 years and over, or Aboriginal people aged 45+
    • Do not participate in a regular exercise program
    • Live independently in the community (i.e. not in a nursing home)
    • Are able to walk safely inside their home without a walking aid.

    How does it work?

    Healthy and Active for Life Online is delivered online, in the comfort of your own home, all for FREE.
     
    Once your registration is confirmed, you simply log into your online account to complete the weekly modules and exercises.
     
    Courses are run four times a year, according to NSW school terms.

    • Comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely
    • Non slip, sturdy walking shoes
