What is neuro-oncology?
Neuro-oncology is a specialised field focusing on primary cancers of the brain.
Our service
The neuro-oncology (brain) team at the NSCC manages all types and grades of brain cancer from diagnosis, treatment and supportive care, including assessment of symptoms and side effects in patients 17 years and older.
Patient cases are discussed at a multi-disciplinary team meeting (MDT) to ensure the best possible treatment recommendation is made. Our multidisciplinary team includes neuro-radiologists, nuclear medicine, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, anatomical pathologists, nurses and other healthcare professionals all working together to provide care to patients with primary brain cancers.
Supportive care services include nutrition, social work and psychology
